Haemobartonellosis (haemoplasmosis) is common feline disease characterized by anemia, cachexia, septicemia and grave intoxication, leading to impaired functions of vital organs. Treatment of sick animals in addition to specific therapy should be aimed also at eliminating toxicity, correcting anemia, and normalization of the blood formula.

The results showed that cats with mild form of haemobartonellosis treated with Gamavit in the complex therapy after 5 days of treatment had a good appetite, polydipsia disappeared as well as other clinical symptoms.

In cats with a severe form of haemobartonellosis treated with Gamavit similar changes were observed after 10 days: the hemoglobin level was restored, erythrocyte sedimentation rate normalized, red blood cell count reached normal levels. Also normal levels of bilirubin, ALT, total protein, creatinine and urea were restored.

Thus, the inclusion of Gamavit in the therapy of haemobartonellosis in cats promotes fast correction of anemia, recovery of blood counts, normalization of liver and renal function and accelerated clinical recovery.
